in everything, give thanks

"Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us."

I am so thankful for all the bad things that has happened today.

I had my route redirected.
But because I was redirected, my next three rides were high paying trips.

It was pouring the whole morning.
But because it was pouring, I had more time to interact with my riders which made the trips a lot more enjoyable! Not many people are willing to strike a conversation, but when they do, I value them so much.

My rider cancelled on me.
But because my rider cancelled on me, I'm reminded that what's meant to be yours, will be yours. (She re-booked her trip and I became her driver again, heh).

I didn't get to stop by macs drive thru for lunch as planned.
But because I didn't stop by the macs drive thru, I managed to sit down and have a full proper meal. Also, I didn't have to eat alone in the car. (:

I had to do a pickup from a place which holds so much memories.
But because I visited that place, I am reminded that I am stronger than I think I am. I thought I wasn't ready to revisit it, I thought I'd start to crumble. But instead, I smiled. And I'm thankful, so very thankful that at least we happened.

My last rider was super indecisive.
She booked an uberpool from clementi to circuit road, but decided that she wanted to head to Ang Mo Kio when I was already on the highway. So I had to complete her trip since she can't change her destination with uberpool. My account was put on hold for 2 minutes and my acceptance rate dropped because I couldn't accept the next 3 requests that came in. After so much hassle, we got stuck in a really bad jam on CTE, which she then changed her mind to go to Novena instead after we got out of it. I ended up reaching home an hour later than intended. But through it all, I was reminded of how I should have "a heart that's never too big". And guess what, blessings in disguise are real. Her trip totaled up to $40+, and I hit my first $200 in a single day!

Today's a perfect reminder to give thanks in all circumstances, and to believe that greater things really await. We may not necessarily make sense of everything that has happened or is happening, but we just need to learn to let things be and trust that all that's meant to be, will be. (:

Thank you, God.
