delta '09

I've not been updating this space often, but I really want to take some time to appreciate a very special group of friends whom I keep very close to my heart.

We met about 9 years ago; still young, sec ones. All these years, we've had our ups and downs as friends, but I'm more than thankful that we stuck through it all.
Things got a little harder the recent years, with everyone going on exchange(s);
I think Changi Airport is right on top of the "places delta goes" list.

I remember how worried I was on the day of my departure - afraid of the unknown. I mean, so many things can change in ~ 1 year. But this group of friends kept me going all these months.
The envelop of monthly handwritten letters brings so much comfort, not to say the few snail mails that come in along the way. Our whatsapp group remains pretty active,
and I'm glad knowing they're right there whenever I need somebod(ies) to talk to.

As though all that they've done isn't enough, this morning (evening) they made their second trip to my place to spend time with my mum!
(I heard they brought along mandarin oranges to bai nian! How sweet. (:)
All of these were planned without my knowledge (except my mum telling me about it); waking up to photos of them gathered at my place got me all teary. (':

You know they're your true friends when they get so comfortable being at your house without you, sharing stories with your mother (and your relatives) like she's a part of you all,
staying for dinner and chit chatting for hours (even when they've exams the next day) etc. After they left, someone said to my mum: "you are not just kelly's mum, but also our friend!". (':

Delta, thank you so much for everything, really.
All that you all have done for me (and my family), makes being away a whole lot easier,
and I can't thank all of you enough.

Missing all of you (including the rest who are in other parts of the world), always.
